This begs a question: Why do you feel a compelling need to install a tach on the Savage? Mine (with carb mods and a Supertrapp) still starts to go flat just before I hit the redline speed by way of the speedometer according to the manual, roughly 30/50/70/85/100 MPH. Like I could really hit that one in fifth gear!
